About
I’m a New York–based director and producer working across film, photography, and campaigns.
I think a director’s job is to surround themselves with geniuses and let them shine in their area of genius. I’m a connector and a conduit. My experience in nearly every department gives me a shared language with collaborators and an understanding of how their individual contributions can solve a problem or change what’s possible.
That starts with making sure everyone understands exactly what we’re making, why we’re making it, and where they fit. There is no small role on my set. I look for opportunities that connect the work to each person’s growth, so their investment is personal as well as professional.
My background in performance, dance, and theatre shapes how I work with performers. They’re the ones inside the scene. My job is to create the trust for them to take ownership, communicate what they need, and return to the work with whatever was getting in their way resolved.
The same belief in individual contribution shapes my approach to the material. Specificity makes it accessible: a person’s humor, experience, or way of seeing gives someone else a reason to connect. Across films, photographs, and campaigns, I want those particular qualities to determine what we make.
